Tips & Tricks

Overview Issue February 2010

How to work faster, more efficiently and more successfully

Clever functions can make everyday work noticeably easier. In our "Tips & Tricks" section, relationship manager Casimir provides a regular insight into how things are done.

Tip 1: Page jump using the Tab key

CAS genesisWorld makes it easy to switch views at any time. To change from one tab to another in the general overview, simply press the Ctrl +Tab keys on your keyboard. CAS genesisWorld immediately switches from the calendar view to your e-mail inbox or to-do list. Casimir loves it: "This keyboard shortcut is a fun feature."

Tip 2: Select participants

Just imagine this everyday scenario: A colleague needs to access one of your documents. Another wants to join in the next scheduled meeting. Now you have it all in hand: Click the "Select participants" icon on the toolbar. A window will open, listing all your colleagues in alphabetical order. Now comes the clever bit: Instead of adding or removing participants using the green and red arrows, highlight one or more participants on the left or right and press the space bar. Incidentally, this has the same effect as double-clicking on a participant! Casimir is astounded: "Hey! This way, all the right people are assigned to the meeting."

Tip 3: Move a scheduled appointment by drag & drop

This trick is quick, easy and efficient: Want to move an appointment in your diary, such as to one day the week after next? Left-click on the appointment in question in the current calendar view to 'grab' it, drag it with the mouse and simply drop it onto the desired day in the month view at the top right. Clever Casimir says: "What would I do without drag & drop?!"

Tip 4: Organize e-mails

You want to organize and arrange the e-mails in your mailbox. Firstly, create the new folders you want using the View wizard. You can then simply drag & drop e-mails from your inbox or 'Sent items' box to the desired folders using the mouse, as in Microsoft Outlook. Casimir is thrilled: "Wow! That's really neat!"
