Product configuration

• Our system is specialized in solving highly complex and data-intensive configuration problems.
• The systems checks product configurations for correctness and also corrects invalid configurations using alternatives. Guaranteed calculation of all minimum alternatives.
• We implemented the optimized high-performance calculation kernel XPS Merlin Enterprise. The basic product CAS Configurator Merlin is based on this kernel and enables you to implement individual customer projects.
• We have been providing configuration systems for many years, mainly for key customers to help them with their sales process.

Data maintenance processes

The better your data, the better your product configurator will work. Sales data management is thus a very important factor when setting up a successful configuration project. With CAS, you will have a partner with great expertise in modeling and implementing complex and custom data maintenance processes. Examples for services we offered to our customers:

• Our system completely supports and represents processes to manage configuration sales data for passenger cars and trucks at Daimler.
• We provide an innovative graphical application for Airbus to maintain dependencies of aviation upgrades ("System Upgrades").

The base for these services is our modular data maintenance tool CAS Configurator Merlin Maintenance.

Semantic technologies (current research)

We use innovative technologies to increase the flexibility of our configuration process. They are developed within the frame of national and international research projects and partly by cooperating with research institutes.

To be able to use the configuration more flexibly, we work with semantic technologies (ontologies, reasoning, and more):

• Producers are not forced to commit themselves at the beginning of a configuration
• Products can be found regardless of the different producers
• Products of different producers can easily be compared
• A product can be transferred to another producer without losing data
